Not sure if you guys saw this or not, but the little girl shot and killed in AZ was the grand daughter of one of the Phillies former coaches. There is an article about her on ESPN.

It is heartbreaking to see her photo on the web and know she was an innocent victim of this violent act.

I don’t mean to seem callous suggesting this, but I wonder if her parents were approached about organ donation. They may have been too distraught, but it would have been a wonderful way to make something good out of this tragedy.

^^^^If she was killed at the scene, organ donation would not have been an option. Tissue donation yes, but organs have to be kept “alive” with a minimum baseline blood pressure in order to be viable for transplantation. If they “die” first before preparation for travel, they cannot be used.

The doctors interviewed today, said that she was dead on arrival at the hospital. They nevertheless tried to resuscitate her and were not successful. I’m sure they gave it everything they had for a child, but it was not to be.

Apparently now WBC can negotiate terms in order to agree not to protest at funerals. I understand where the radio stations are coming from, but the thought of negotiating with these idiots and making concessions to them really rubs me the wrong way. What do you all think?

An innocent, pure and unlived life taken by a mentally unstable creep. It just isn’t right, and the family is amazing for donating the organs in such a distressful period of their lives. May the family find peace, may Christina protect others from above and may that murderer be punished as harshly as possible for his selfish and disgusting act.

I would have made the same decision if I were her mother…

I cried the day this tragedy hapened. I do not have young children, but someday, I hope I will have a 9-year old grandkid. Life should not end when it just begins! This is so sad and tragic…

Maybe the organ donation will help the grieving parents to know at least something good came out of all this evil.

I understand why the radio stations made a deal with the Westboro cult to not protest the little girl’s funeral. I’d make that deal too, if I were a radio station. And then… well, you know, it’s sad how sometimes equipment malfunctions and a station can’t broadcast. These things happen. What a shame if the Westboro creeps started talking, and all that was broadcast was static. That would be regrettable. And wouldn’t it even be sadder if the radio station hosts all had very contagious colds and flu.

I don’t know how those Westboro scum get anyone to deal with them-- I mean, like, the grocery store, the shoe store, the barber. If I ran a place of business, they wouldn’t be welcome.
