900 words too long?

i wrote an essay for english class that was supposed to be used for my college essay… i did not know about the length requirement for the common application until afterwards. i recieved a good grade on my paper and i really like it. i feel like it is a great representation of myself and funny too. definately not painful to read. i cannot condense this paper or else the entire essence of the story will be lost…

so should i write an entirely new paper?

i appreciate your responses, im really unsure and dissapointed about this.

There is no limit, and I would suggest you get used to writing that much. At my university, the ENC 1101 class writes 5 page papers once every other week. That is about 1200 to 1500 words … that adds up to about 5 of those a semester. Then you have ENC 1102 which does about the same thing.

Also, as long as it is not too wordy, it should be fine. Cut down on over exposition, “such as” or “in the same way as” can be considered wordy things.

thanks so much, i really don’t want to have to write another letter for my application
