Well, that’s awesome!

…I am such a load.

Cool. Under 8 hours - wow.

They showed her on one of the national news shows crossing the finish line. Apparently, she is a two time cancer survivor to top it off. It is inspirational. I admire that she is still living her life and not just waiting to die. I wish the news featured more “good news” stories like this and not obsessing about celebs or people that steal other people’s life savings or kill and all that other stuff.

Good for her!!

Amazing. I wonder how old she was when she started running.

I hope to do that at her age. I’m serious about that.

Mind-blowing accomplishment and a great story. Just hope it doesn’t turn out that she cut the course or got a lift in a cab part of the way, or that she used a fake ID and is really only 85 or younger.

Hope Miss Harriette gets her mug put on front of Wheaties boxes…she deserves it!

I believe the news said she ran her first marathon at age 76. And this news article would confirm that with this statement:
Cancer has affected Thompson’s life deeply. She lost her husband of 67 years to the disease in January and now struggles with painful wounds on her legs resulting from treatment for squamous cell carcinoma. It’s fitting, therefore, that Thompson runs her marathons to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In the 16 years she’s been running, she has raised over $100,000 for the organization.
