fred_is hit the spot

Ya, I already mentioned Fred_is point in a more subtle way. No offense, but nobody wants to hear about your woes from getting a 770 in a subject test. Get a grip!!!

hahah where else can he go though?
This is a forum about college.
Aren’t we free to talk about college stuff here?

Of course, but there are many people who would be so happy with a 770. Griping about one seems childish at best, and downright condescending at worst.

Err… I don’t mean to worry anyone, because I’m the one worried here…
It’s just that we’re talking about Princeton here - you can’t be too good at this level…

Argh, this whole college thing is probably the worst part of high school.

It is.
Half of senior year is about having fun in your last year.
The other half is stressing and tearing yourself apart over college.
Don’t worry, we all do it lol

We shouldn’t ban any threads… if u dont want to see something than dont read it…

We shouldn’t ban threads, that’s way too extreme.

But yes, it does annoy a large percentage of the population if people complain about 750+ SAT scores, kind of like those “omg should I retake a 2380” threads in the SAT forum before.

I understand the idea that there are many exams where anything under than a 800 is considered “bad” at competitive high schools (like 2C, many language tests), but seriously, it will not affect your chances AT ALL for selective schools. An admission to a selective college is not based on one single test.

An admission officer told me this, “When you apply, basically you’re already ‘in’ or ‘out.’ There’s nothing much you can do about your application by the time you apply. Getting another SAT II will not help, scoring 2400 on the SAT will not help – when you apply, your application had already become a 3-year culmination and showcase of who you are, and a single addition or detraction from that showcase will not affect your chances at all. Quite simply, if a person’s overall application is not Harvard calibur, getting a 2400 on the SAT will not increase his chances at all.”

Think about the kids that don’t have your intellect (i.e. the 70-some percentile below you); count your blessings. =)

most ppl would only ask such a question if they were trying to fish for a complimented…ya know, like “I look so bad today”…“no, no, you look great” a 770 would never hurt you. do you really need somebody over the internet to tell you that???

omz, whats HOSA?
