A B in AP Chemistry or an A in Honors?

I think I might get a B in AP Physics B, AP European History, and AP Chemistry. Am I screwed if this happens?

Would it be more impressive if I took Honors instead and got As?

why would you get B’s in the AP classes??? if there is a problem in overextending yourself, consider dropping one or two of them in favor of honors classes, but try to keep at least 1, or you could always self study for the tests…

The sarcastic/insensitive answer is that you should get an A in the AP class. If you don’t do well (read A’s) taking the most challenging classes, your chances of getting into Princeton are low.

Now for the potentially helpful advice. If you are just a little concerned about getting a B, risk it and take the AP. If you know you’ll get a B, take honors.

Oh… So I’m screwed either way. Will hiring a tutor insure that I get an A?

Also, my Chemistry and European History teachers raise one of your semester grades by a full level if you pass the AP Test. For example, if I get a B in one semester and an A in another, then a 3 on the AP exam, it’s 2 As instead of 1. (But I’m going to get a 5. )

^ grade inflation at it’s best

^
Oh COME ON. It’s ludicrous that Honors students have their As count as 5s. This is the VERY LEAST my school can do. In fact, they should do it for BOTH semesters.

what about all of the other schools that don’t do this? mine, for example  but, to reiterate my previous question, why dont you think you can do well in all 3 AP classes?

^
Your schools very likely have easier programs than ours. Our AP European History program is, as explained by the teacher, much harder than all others in the district and as such, he feels it’s fair that we receive that extra bonus just so that we aren’t punished from the extra rigor.

Chemistry is the same thing. In Physics, an 85% is considered an A.

Well, I’m a Sophomore with no prior background in Chemistry and Physics, so I’m really struggling. In European History, it’s an accomplishment to get a C. Less than 5 people get an A per semester out of over 130.

Woah. Grade inflation for sure.

In my junior english class (honors, not AP), only 12 people out of the class of 450 get an A. Of course, that’s an extreme on the other end.

I wouldn’t bank on getting fives on those tests. Anything can happen and if you don’t get 5’s then you will end up with B’s and 5less.

cs12345, he only needs to get a 3 for the 7 point grade increase…

He’s correct, I only need a 3 to get my grade raised a full grade. It’s a full grade, not seven points.

How hard are these classes? I’m really overwhelmed with Stoichiometry and what not right now. I also don’t understand what a second squared means.
