So I’m a new freshman in college for almost 2 months now and I’ve encountered a problem. There’s roughly only 1 month left for the term and I’m not doing so hot in my Eng 101 class. Mainly because I did not really do the online part for this “hybrid” class. There’s still 2 projects, one of the projects account for 25% of my grade, 5 more weeks of online work, and a third project which is incorporated into a section that counts for 25% of my grade (the only portion). Technically speaking, right now my grade is less than 60% which constitutes as failing. All my other classes range from B- to an A so it’s not that I’m incapable. So I’m wondering if it’s possible for professors to give you some extra work to make up for some things. Since I didn’t ignore the only work on purpose. Does anyone have some advice?

Talk to them during office hours, and if you had any extenuating circumstances mention them. However, don’t use them as an excuse. When I was in your situation, I pretty much stressed it was my fault and that I didn’t expect anything in return.

Worked twice for me… one prof even threw out the exam I got a 39 on.
