I would like to get advice from some people(non-family or university speaking) regarding an issue that is bothering.

I just finished some of my finals already for my 1st yr. I had a 2.25 gpa from my last semster with 12 hrs already. I had switched majors from IT to History because I had a D+ in Intro Java and I was getting frustrated with the complexitity involved with it. I had took 15 hrs this year and was hoping to strive for at least a 3.0. Though, a roadblock had got into the way. I had ended up in the hospital from “partying” with some friends. I had to testify against someone at a hearing regarding an issue of drugs. I was doing poorly in a religion class which I was a D- minus. I was excelling in a Rock history class and also in my history of Brazil class. I was doing alright in my gov class with a C-. I didn’t like my astronomy class that much. I had got a 68 and a 63 on two exams on my astronomy class thought I did better in my labs that balanced my grade out to a 77.

I had took the my finals this week though, I had earned a 77 in my bible class’s final which moved my grade up a C-. I got an 83 on my hist of brazil final thought I got a 75, a C which could’ve been better if I didn’t miss a presentation due to some issues I was resolving at Campus Life. I’m not sure what my final exam grade was in my gov class but I got a C in the class. I got an A in my rock history class which is alright. I had opted out of my astronomy final because the only way I could’ve moved my grade up to another letter was to get a 94 or above which was highly unlikely due to the difficult nature of the test being culmulative. So I think my “new” gpa is about a 2.28 roughly. I feel bad that I will lose all my financial aid. I’m not sure how to break it to my parents or to my two sisters about it. I go to a highly competative private university in the DFW area(I’m not disclosing the name of it) that is about nearly 41k a yr to attend. I do not consider myself “well-off” per see as the majority of everyone is there; I’m a disadvangted minority attending on college. I feel like I screwd up now and will not even afford to attend my sophmore year. I do not know how to tell my mom or dad. One of my sisters is sick right now and I don’t want to let this “bad news” get to her. I’m not sure if I enjoyed this school at much or not though I feel like I’m not sure what school to go to or not.
