I’ve got a zero on a minor quiz. It was the first one for this year and quiz factor in as 35% of your total grade. I can’t blame anyone but myself however I thought it was rather unethical of the teacher to simply give a pop quiz on a damn monday. I honestly think I won’t recover from this at this point…

You’ve taken one quiz and you’ve given up on the class??? If it were a lost cause those denominators would be way higher. Don’t give up!! I got a 46% on an AP Physics test last year (1 of 3 in the Quarter) and still mustered up an 88% average.

Where there is one quiz there are many more, use this as an example of how NOT to prepare for class each day. Then, move on and forget it

If the teacher uses pop quizzes as part of the grade, there is nothing wrong with giving a pop quiz on a Monday.

Also, that one quiz won’t account for 35% of your grade, assuming more “minor” assignments are given. If you get a 100% on the next pop quiz, then your grade goes up to (45+17.5+12.5)/100 = 75%. I got a 50% on my first multi-variable calculus exam but improved my test-taking and got a B+ in the class. Try to be more prepared next time.

@rhandco You’re an ass. He obviously can’t stay home every Monday.

OP - I think you’ll find that everybody failed the pop quiz. There’s only three grades in so far… There’s still poetntial for an A average or at least a high B for the semester. Dust yourself off.

I hope he was being facetious about Mondays. I was being sarcastic.

But seriously, he is accusing a teacher of being UNETHICAL to have a pop quiz on a Monday? Please.

I agree with TOWG about dust yourself off and move on. It is just not that big a deal, and it seems now you know to be aware of how this teacher is.

It may seem unfair, but it’s the teachers thing to do. I’m actually thinking of becoming a high school teacher. I have some plans for some EVIL things >:D
