We’ll be in Philadelphia in about an hour and are flying out of PHL at 6 pm. Need to kill a couple of hours. A museum would be great. Any suggestions?

You didn’t say what day of the week and not all museums are open every day, but I recommend the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) on the campus of Penn. It is small so you don’t need a lot of time and there is no charge for admission.

The Academy of Natural Sciences is great fun if you have never been there.

Sorry if I was unclear. Today. Driving in from the north. I’ll try to find out if the two suggestions are open. Thanks

Assuming you’re not on your way today (most museums including this one are closed on Mondays)

[Rosenbach Museum and Library](http://www.rosenbach.org/)
The Rosenbach Museum and Library
2008-2010 Delancey Pl.
Philadelphia, PA 19103

Here’s a quote from their page:

"The brothers own personal collection, now the core of the Rosenbach, features treasures the brothers were unable to part with, including the only surviving copy of Benjamin Franklins first Poor RichardAlmanacand the manuscript of James Joyces Ulysses. The collection has since grown to include the papers of poet Marianne Moore, Bram Stokers notes for Dracula, and the drawings of Maurice Sendak, adding richness and relevance to the experience of visiting the Rosenbach.

The Rosenbach brothers 1865 townhouse at 2010 Delancey Place is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features an official marker placed by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission in recognition of the enduring legacy of the Rosenbach brothers. Since 2003, the adjacent Maurice Sendak Building offers spaces for public programs and exhibitions."

Oops, we posted at the same time, I see you are on your way today. How about spending some time in Chinatown?

My suggestion would be to go to Liberty Bell,Constitution Hall, etc…easy access and you could see as much or as little as you like

agree - walk around area by Liberty Bell & Constitution Hall. Grab a cheese steak. If you’re into Methodist history, there St George Methodist church near the Ben Franklin Bridge that was the first permanent Methodist church in the US.

Had a great time at the Liberty Bell, which is a national park. Deadpan, I asked if there were bears. Was taken seriously. Sort of a Borat moment. In the end the ranger enjoyed it too.

I’m too late
I would’ve suggesting spending time at the Reading Terminal Market
