A couple practical questions for current students.

Most convenient bank with free checking?

Cell phone service and reception at Pitt?

Best place to buy Pitt sweatshirts and t-shirts (not necessarily the bookstore)

Anyone know anything about the Rugby team?

Thanks!

i’m a future student, but you can buy tshirts and sweatshirts from the vendor on the corner of bigelow and forbes

theres the Pitt Store down the street

PNC Bank branch is right in the Quad and next to the Towers.
ATT and Verizon have good service here.
Bookstore, and Pitt Shop on Forbes.

PNC is the most convenient bank – there are ATM’s all over including in the lobby of the Towers. T-shirts – it seems you get lots of them for free but the Pitt Shop on Forbes as well as the bookstore carries t-shirts/sweatshirts.

The corner of Forbes & Bigelow is “The Pitt Stop” and yeah, Chaz’s stuff is generally $5-$7 cheaper than bookstore or “Pitt Shop” Prices. “Got Used Books” (further down forbes, near atwood I think?) also has some stuff, but it’s basically exactly the same as book store prices.

Most convenient bank with free checking?
PNC hands down. They’re everywhere! It’s almost impossible to be with any other bank.

Cell phone service and reception at Pitt?
I know people a lot of people who have Verizon or AT&T, but I also know someone with T-mobile and Sprint. I haven’t heard any complaints from any of them.

Best place to buy Pitt sweatshirts and t-shirts (not necessarily the bookstore)
The Pitt Shop Outside Vendor on Forbes Ave! If you ever come on campus, you can’t miss it.

Anyone know anything about the Rugby team?
I have a friend on the team and she loves it! I never looked into the sport myself, but she seems to really enjoy being on the team.

PNC

They’re all pretty good, from what I’ve heard

Just get them for free… That’s what college is about-the free t-shirts!

nope

The Pitt club kicks off with a summer “camp” on August 24th
[University of Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club](http://www.pitt.edu/~sorc/rugby/)

The Pittsburgh area club is called the Harlequins and they play at Founders Field about 45 min away. They host the National Guard HS championships w/e of May 15th-16th.

Hope this helps…

University of Free T-Shirts. I have:

2 from move-in
1 from the Pep Rally/Bonfire
1 from Pitt Make a Difference Day
1 from buying football season tickets
1 from PittStart
2 from my day for admitted students

And the outdoor shop on Forbes is terrific. Got a ton of cool stuff from there, bright colors and a lot of variety. Way less generic than the “official” stuff.

In answer about cell phone, just got back from PittStart yesterday. I have Sprint and had service everywhere. So that’s good.
