<p>What sort of Economist? An Environmental Economist for the EPA does completely different work than does the Economists who help McDonalds plan their menu. Both of them are completely different than the Economists who run hedge funds and those who help design public policy.</p>

<p>In all seriousness though, i’m curious as to how much math they use on a daily basis.</p>
<p>I’m told that the math has to be intuitive to be successful. The focus is more statistical in its analysis, through econometrics.</p>
