A day in the life of Social Distancing

Eat blueberry crepes my husband made.

Sit down and figure out how I am stopping the launch of a new product that was due to go “live” in 2 weeks. It is a big deal (for me) but i don’t think I’m upset. So far it seems like a case of pausing everything, and when things return to normal, whenever that is, we’ll have a ready to execute plan to implement. But stopping means not paying anyone who was working on the launch (we have no employees, but do have a pr consultant etc).

Go for a walk with my dog on our farm.

Check the CC coronavirus thread periodically.

Vow not to be online so much (but probably fail to curb my reading)

Reply to my friend living in London.

Have a family dinner, with wine.

Play a board game with my husband and sons, or watch a movie.

Coffee and news
Run outside
P90X ab disc
Breakfast at home with fam, including son and GF
laundry and household chores
air in bike tires
maybe do something outside with son and GF
work on powerpoint for class
other meals here
TV and Netflix
figure out what I need to buy when the stores are less crowded (I have my stock but would like some fresh food)
swim in outdoor pool when it is empty later in the day? not sure about this; the pool is not a risk, but passing thru the gym to get to the pool is

@emilybee - We found this. It looks like you can “add friends” to your table - we are still trying to figure it out. Certainly not like playing live, but seems like a good substitute. Would be interested if anybody finds any others.

Long walk with the dog.

Another long walk without the dog.

Have lunch out to help support local restaurants (may do take out).

Give dog a bath. Torture dog by trimming his nails.

Discuss stages to deep clean and reorganize the basement (project we’ve been putting off for a year).

Continue to field phone calls about mom’s passing and hopefully share mire stories.

Right now listening to NPR with coffee and breakfast. Took puppy for a long walk already, will be walking more throughout the day. Pup is great for de-stressing.

Netflix this evening

Nap

Maybe open some wine later

Possibly do some report cards for my K students, we do go in on Monday to prepare virtual lesson plans, off for 3 weeks. (in Ohio)

Take a look at all the stuff to do taxes, set aside for another day

Organize the fridge and see what needs to be eaten first

Laundry

Do some flash cards with my son who lives with me and is getting ready to take his Real Estate exam

Think about what to do about a haircut appointment and dog grooming appointment coming up

Look over the to-do list, set aside and go back on CC

This is my new favorite thread!
Today:
Eat GF waffle
Keep checking this thread
Check in with kids
Clean
Shred old (REALLY OLD) documents
Start purging upstairs spare room
Launder bed sheets and blankets
Watch another Broadway show on Broadway HD
Some sort of exercise
Spray throat with elderberry syrup stuff (twice)
Try not to get frustrated with my very frustrated husband

Great thread!

Came across this documentary / vignette on the NBA (ESPN) last night. 62 15 minute stories about different eras. Watched about 10 of them. Great memories of my childhood. (I still say if Bill Walton didn’t have chronic foot problems, he would have been one of the best ,if not best, complete player of all time.

Today will be:

go for a long walk
do a little reading
family dinner
find something interesting on TV

Tomorrow will be work from home
Watch the markets
get in a good workout

I’m still having breakfast!

Tap dance class from 1-2…only 5 people.

Brief trip to grocery. I need bleach to do some laundry! I know…they probably won’t have it. If not, I’ll get ice cream.

Come home. And relax. I have a bunch of borrowed books to read!

I have a recertification class on Wednesday morning…probably less than 20 people. Waiting to see if that is happening. Need to do some review just in case.

I’m going to count all of the rolls of toilet paper we’ve purchased in the past week, lol
and if I get really bored, I’ll start separating the 2 ply.

I deep-cleaned the dishwasher with vinegar and baking soda, and right now it’s running empty on the sani-wash cycle (whatever that is) to get rid of all the remaining black sludge that accumulates. I realize that the next time I buy a dishwasher, one important criterion will be how easy it is to clean.

Washed hands and face.

Had morning coffee.

Did my 30 minutes on bike.

Just put in a load of towels because H uses a ton in the morning.

Wiped down cabinet handles, faucets, doorknobs etc. Pretty much everything H likely touched.

At least he’s gone for the next 20 hours so I don’t have to be constantly wiping surfaces.

Washed hands.

Waiting for peak daytime high to walk pups. At least it’s sunny and not windy today.

ps - I’m really enjoying this. It’s nice to see most people here are practicing social distancing.

Good Morning!

My usual Sunday ritual - sleep in (for me that’s 7:30), coffee and papers (WaPo and NYT).

Logged on to service at my church (the Episcopal churches here are closed for the next 2 weeks-may be extended). H was also logged on and following. Took communion with white wine (red not opened) and cookies (our Rector even suggested that).

Ironed (no excuse not to…)

Plans for the rest of the day:

Take a walk when the weather gets a bit better.
Plan/cook a healthy dinner.
Inventory/restock my Little Free Library.
Check in with friends. (have already checked in with a few)
Text my boss and let him know that this 62 y.o. woman who had pneumonia in 2016 will be working from home.
Read, maybe watch TV.
Make a donation to help local people in need.

Take care, everyone.

Yesterday I spent the whole day on the couch binging the whole first season of Britain’s Best Home Cook on Hulu. Highly recommend it for a cozy day in. Then made pizza and we all watched Throw Mama From the Train.

Today

  • Finished reading a book
  • Watch church’s live stream
  • Will vacuum and get some laundry done
  • Probably make some banana bread since I have a bunch of bananas going black
  • Possibly a hike with the family and our dog, if the rain stops
  • Dinner will be waffles and eggs

Walked this morning on my own.

Made a big breakfast - 2 out of town kids (in state) and one BF came home for a few days but are leaving today.

Taking D1 to a small market to get items for her to take home so she doesn’t have to hit a big box store.

Big house clean up

Catch up on CC since I’ve been largely off for 4 days.

Another walk or run later.

Watch a little tv - catch up on Project Runway

Load some reading material on my Kindle

To bed early - H is supposed to have a simple procedure at the hospital tomorrow and we have to be there at 6am.

Top priority today is a trip to the library to stock up on books before they close tomorrow for probably a month.

@emilybee @Cheeringsection my trainer at the gym recommended Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. I haven’t tried it yet but from a glance it looks like she has a lot of videos.

Read WaPo & do crossword puzzles
Laundry
Short walk to mail something
Try to finish our taxes (after spending 2 hrs on the phone with Turbotax on Fri)
Stay informed, but avoid stressing about it (LOL)
Find something to watch on TV, Amazon Prime (I miss college basketball)

Rinse, repeat with some variation tomorrow.

Church had technical trouble live streaming. Hopefully the students fair better with their distance learning.

Husband and 30 y.o. kid on phone now, comparing measures being taken at their respective workplaces. Kid socializing online only. (He’s in Boston area, we’re kind of rural a couple hours outside the city.)

It will be a usual quiet Sunday for me and DH. We’ll eat a late breakfast soon, read the L.A. Times, and FaceTime with our kids this afternoon. DD is a senior at UCLA and DS works at Google and lives in the Bay area. He’s now working from home. I’m anxious to see how they’re both coping with this whole thing. I’ll probably also read my book and work on the Sunday crossword. And we’ll probably watch some TV later.
