Hola amigos!

I am debating my chances of getting accepted if I apply to yale arts and sciences vs engineering. I know you apply to the school in general but I’m wondering which would increase my chances.

Here’s some background information:
My SATs are crit: 750, math: 770 and writing: 700 (forgive me). My subject tests are world hist: 790, us hist: 760 and math 2: 690 (took freshman yr…) and physics: 670 (my course was on mostly different material. got a 4 on phys c e&m though). I’ve done a lot of with engineering between mentorships and research at NASA on infrasonic and e&m sensors and a UAV company on satellite communication networks at. I also go to a gov school for science and technology. I have done equal amounts of STEM and humanities and have flush AP/college courses in each junior and senior year. Also, founded a gov club (54 people, work on political campaigns, host debates) and am president of MUN (increased membership by 50ish, hosting my school’s first conference, won awards).

Soooooo… yes. I’m divided. I want to found tech companies and then run for political office later in life (political junkie is an understatement). However, getting accepted to Yale is what I am most concerned about now. I want engineering because that’s what the companies I intend to start will focus on. However, I’m thinking that my subject test scores for math and physics would knock me out of the running for admission to yale engineering.

With that, would I be more likely to get into Yale arts and sciences or engineering? And if I accepted, could I switch from arts and sciences to engineering while at Yale? Thanks!!!
