For anyone who’s taken the APES exam before, do they ask about specific years of laws? Like I know some general ones (and I’ll probably just memorize all the ones listed in PR), but knowing the years is kinda pointless if it’s not on the test.
Also, are there any questions on specific eons/eras/periods/epochs?

You don’t need to know the year for the law if asked about it. Normally it’ll say “which of the following best describes the _______,” and you’ll pick from multiple choices. There aren’t any specific questions on eons/eras/periods/epochs… if you’re referring to all that prehistoric stuff, it’s not really on there.

Credentials: I scored a 5 through self-studying last year.

I didn’t use PR. I bought Barron’s and it sucked. Honestly all I did was skim through a textbook which didn’t really help and then I ordered Smartypants off of Amazon and practiced a few released AP exams to get a feel for MC/FRQ (They repeat some MC year to year btw so even a few released questions will be reused in one form or the other).

Yes, it would be possible to get a 5 with just PR. I got a 5 using both PR and Barron’s, but liked PR’s concise format and realistic practice tests. It’s not worth buying another prep book to supplement it.
