A few questions from a Class of 2016 Bruin from Canada

Hey guys,

I am almost definitely going to matriculate into UCLA for my undergrad - and very excited and thankful to do so :). I have a few questions I thought you guys might be able to answer.

I’m currently enrolled in the “Pre-Business Economics” major but I’ve heard some mixed reactions about it. I want to pursue finance in the future, and hopefully earn my MBA from a top tier school like Wharton, Harvard, or Stanford. Is this a suitable major for my career path or are there better choices?

The admission conditions state that I have to maintain a B average. Not that I will allow senioritis to take control of me, but what is that exactly in terms of the IB Diploma?

Additionally, I’ve heard that driving and parking is a total mess there. Is this true? There also seems to be a general consensus that UCLA food is great. Is this also true?

Anyway, thanks for your time and hope to see some of you next fall :)

I’m not that familiar with your career goals, so I won’t comment on those or the IB diploma.

Driving and parking are indeed a mess. If you live in the dorms, then don’t expect to get a parking spot on campus unless you have an off-campus job or an extenuating circumstance.

Food is good, but you get tired of it anyways.

I love Canada.

Yes, Biz Econ is the best for finance and ibanking. Do that and the accounting minor, get a goodGPA and GMAT score, and you are basically golden for a great MBA program
