A few questions

As a high school student I did amazingly horrible, I received my CHSPE shortly after turning 16, and left with horrible grades and horrible experience. I honestly can make no excuse for these actions as my will power alone was to blame.

However, just this semester I started community college, I must say I enjoy it thoroughly easily pulling off a 4.0 with 16 credits, with my major in political science already declared.

With all this in mind, I am without a doubt set on going to UC Berkeley.

So I ask;

Will my high school grades affect an igetc transfer? (and if so is there any way to have them removed from consideration)

How likely is admittance? (If i continue to maintain a 4.0)

What extracurricular activities should I participate in to increase the likelihood of admittance?

bumping for answers.

The path through a JC is FAR easier than the HS route, especially with much improved grades. Good job. Make sure you work with a counselor and/or professor to provide letters of recommendations and land guidance. Let them know early you are shooting for Cal, they will be thrilled to help. Most JC kids don’t have that goal…finally, being seen as a ‘feeder’ to Cal or any UC makes them and their school look that much better. Good luck and Go Bears.

And take a look at [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to look up how you can choose community college courses to fulfill major and breadth requirements for the UC (or CSU) school and major you are interested in.
