A friend of mine got 8,8,8 on essay writing in New SAT, is it possible? Is it very rare? How many people got it in all US or how many percentage get it? Thanks for the answer in advance.
I’m not aware of any public-facing data about that. This fall, though, I had 9 students get 8/8/8 on the essay, so I don’t think it’s super rare, @saya
Yes, I would agree. I have been surprised by how many of my students have been receiving 8s because my assumption had been that 8s would be reserved for outstanding writing. This doesn’t seem to be the case. Most of the essays I have seen with 8s are good, but not as strong as those that had 12s on the previous SAT Essay.
College Panda has a good book on the SAT essay if that is your goal.
