A-G mismatch on UC application

I got accepted into UC Berkeley and I’m committed; however, I was looking through my app and I noticed that I reported a “G” course (college prep) as a “D” course (life science). I’d still meet the D requirement without the class being in this category—I will still be A-G eligible. I also listed my courses exactly how they showed on my transcript. Should I contact UCB about this, or will they reclassify my A-G courses when I send the official transcript later? Will I get rescinded?

Only UCB can answer you.

If you’ve met the requirements, regardless of how you classified, I’d think you’d be fine. You state you did.

But if you need to know now so you can choose an alternative if an issue, you need to ask the school. If nothing else, you’d confirm you are ok.

Thank you, I just submitted a “contact Berkeley” form to get in touch with my AO to ask about this.

This is a non-issue. Courses in excess of the a-f requirements can be (but don’t need to be) classified as g

Thanks for replying, I’m just really worried because I’ve had a few people tell me I might get in trouble for misclassifying an A-G class.

Even if it were a mistake, the little elves in admissions would likely have corrected. Don’t worry
