A friend shared this on facebook today and I think it does a good job of explaining consent.
I think it’s a very nice, succinct video.
I like the video and the analogy. I wish there were a few additions.
As one person commented on the video, just because someone is dressed for a tea party, doesn’t mean they want tea.
Also, the gray area between being sober and agreeing to have tea and being passed out is not addressed.
^^I agree and it is one of the grayest areas. When is someone impaired to the point that they can’t give consent?
I think it is always best to err on the side of assuming NO consent when things are ambiguous, just like tea. Erring on that side, I see a lot of positives and not many negatives.
