a gpa of 2.01.

My friend, who is a soph got a gpa of 2.01 with 1 honors course. He also got a 3.0, with no honors frosh year. One of the reason for the drop is b/c he moved here in the beginning of soph year. Do you think he can still get into state school like Rutgers - NB (in-state)?

Projected Stats:

Asian (Chinese) in NJ
Public School

GPA: 3.0 frosh, 2.0 soph, 3.5 jr, 3.6 sr.
SAT I: 1810 CR560 M700 W550
SAT II: Bio 750, Chem 730

Soccer (9)
Varity Cross Country (10, 11, 12)
Varsity Winter Track (9, 10, 11, 12)
Varsity Outdoor Track (9, 10, 11, 12)
Ecology Club (9)

yeah he shouldnt have too much trouble with rutgers… just get that GPA up and attach a letter to the app about why the drop

need to hear more opinions b/c i dont wanna trust newbie with 19 posts.

is he a rising senior?

GPA: low
SAT: averag
ecs: average

is there a reason for his drop in gpa soph year?

if he raises his sat to like 2000 and cumulative gpa to 3.5, i think it is a toss up.

dropped b/c he moved here was stressed i guess. gonna explain that to college tho.

If he goes to a community college he can transfer to a 4 year college…even though that would be the unfaorable path to go…he will still end up just as good as anyone else with hard work

**** the community college yo. save that for final path.

he could definately get into Rutgers in Camden or in Newerk

thought about that too. problem is - Camden/Newerk’s like most dangerous place in NJ lol. does it matter which to go tho if he’s gonna apply to job/grad school and stuffs?

Camden AND Newek campuses are both in horrible areas of those two cities?

both horrible. theoneo’s friend’s brother’s friend who goes to Newerk got shot while going to class. and as you know Camden is THE MOST crowded city in NJ.

harvard is a safety.

Well it would be impossible for him to raise his GPA to a 3.5 by the end of junior year if he has a 2.01 but i know a black kid that got a 2100 SAT and a 2.6 GPA and got into MAryland

and if he is a sophemore how do you know his junior and senior grades

Uhhh…the junior & senior GPAs might be projected a bit too high.

agreed…
