Hi! I recently applied to UMich College of Engineering for junior transfer. But I got a D last semester because I missed ME final due to personal reasons and the prof directly gave me 0 on the final. I plan to retake the class some time but right now my GPA is 3.57. Without a D, my GPA would be around 3.7. I explained why I got a D in commonapp but I don’t know whether UM would accept such a failing grade… Do I still have a chance of getting into COE? I applied for chemical engineering… Thanks!!

Well, it’s not good that you received a D, obviously…Why didn’t you retake it this semester? If you can hold off on reapplying until after you’ve retaken the class, I’d do that.
I wanted to retake it this semester … i went to the professor during week 3 and she refused to sign on the add/drop form… i cant wait till i’ve retaken it since i am a soph and this is my last chance to get out of hell in this place
Is it possible that your community college offers ME over the summer?
@NASA2014 I am not in CC but a top 40 private university. It typically offers intro ME every summer but not this summer. I asked office of summer program why ME dept not going to offer it and they said that it was due to low enrollments in the past and ME dept chose not to offer it… Well, it’s been offered for past 5 summers and the first year it is not offered is when I really need it…how lucky I am…
