a hard question!!!!

[Reading magazine advertisements carefully], the writers seem more interested in impact than in grammatical form.

A. as it is
C. Reading carefully the contents of magazine advertisements
E. As a careful reading of magazine advertisements demonstrates

E is correct, but I choose A

Thank you!

any feedback?

The intended meaning is that when people read magazines, it becomes clear that the writers seem more interested in impact than in grammatical form. E conveys this meaning perfectly, but both A and C sound as if the writers are who actually read, instead of the general public/critics…

The meaning of the sentence is

“By careful analysis, one realizes that magazine writers are more interested in impact that in using proper grammar”.

If you select choice A, the sentence makes no sense, as the modifier “Reading carefully the contents of a magazine” seemingly connects to the writers of articles. This makes no sense in meaning. Choice A would be correct if the sentence instead said “Reading magazine advertisements carefully, one realizes that writers…” There is no such option, but choice E conveys the same meaning in different words.

Did that help at all or did I just confuse you?

I thought I got what you meant, those really help, thank you!:)
