A- in high school?

Do colleges look differently at an A-? I know in college an A- is not equal to a 4.0, unlike high school. I’m worried because I have numerous A-

Just be happy that it’s the letter A

Common sense would help in this situation.

If your school counts it the same as a regular ‘A’, then you’re fine. If they dock it to a 3.7, yes, it’s a problem.

So many high schools use so many different grade scales that it is not nearly as important as you think. Your school will have a profile it sends that explains your school’s grading.

My daughter started at a high school where an 89.6 was an A and figured in as. 4.0. She then moved to a school that used. 100-point scale, and I do not think the transcript reflected a letter grade. Theoretically, a kid could get half A’s and half B’s (85s and 95 s for the sake of my demo) and end up with a 90 average. Wow, 90 is an A, so it is. 4.0 average. Screwy, right?

Hakuna matata.

Take a chill pill. A really large one. If a oral tablet doesn’t work you may need a suppository. <- That was a really bad joke, ignore that.

But seriously, if they convert it to 3.7’s you’d still be averaging a lot of 3.7’s and 4.0’s. Seriously, A-'s are not even remotely the end of the world.

Some colleges like U of Michigan, do not count the sub-grades.
