A- in Honors Chem?

If one has an average (for the year) of an A- in honors chemistry in their sophomore year and that is the only chem class they took in high school bc their school doesn't offer AP chem, and they want to major in chem in college and declare this major on the application, and wants to apply to an ivy league, will this hurt their chances of being accepted?

I'm taking AP Chem now senior year, my first exposure to chem, and I'm flourishing. Depends on the school you want to attend. If it's Hopkins, you probably wouldn't be getting an A- anyway.

Schools know most people change their majors. In general your listed major is given little consideration.

thanks guys!
