May I ask you a question?
I’m currently studying O levels and have achieved A* (9) in all 8 subjects in my school exams. I’m scheduled to take my finals in the upcoming October and November. After that, should I join A levels or a CC to pursue my dream of attending an Ivy League university? Currently, I serve as a volunteer Manager in the performance management team at NextGen Impact. For further ECs, I plan to apply to MYLP after my O levels and consider taking either the IELTS or Duolingo proficiency tests. Could you please advise me on what I should prepare for further?
8 A* at O levels is impressive!
Your best bets would be to continue with A levels or in the IB program (I don’t think you’d need MYP before the IBD, I think you’d jump right into IB.)
Attending community college would lower your odds of admission at highly selectivity private universities because it’d make you a transfer. Since most places are reserved for freshman applicants, the only places for transfers are those from students who chose to leave, and most students stay.
What do you want to study in college (uni)?
Note that admission to US colleges depends not only on your results but also on extra curricular involvement and impact. (Having a job also counts.)
UK, Canadian, and European will be more straightforward: academic results, plus sometimes an extra exam (written and/or oral) and/or sometimes an indication about your ECs, with the primary driver being your academics.
