<p>Well, as most of the wonderful parents here know… I am patiently waiting for word from Georgetown… and to pass that time, I’ve been correcting HS-ROTC examinations for promotion… Today was the Cadet Private (one of the lowest levels of promotion) written test, and … one of the questions are: </p>
<p>“What does the White Star stand for?”</p>
<p>The White Star in ROTC is the Merit unit, above “satisfactory” but “below” Honor Unit. It means the ROTC program is in the 85th-90th percentile range, and meets most of the requirements by cadet command… well… the answer of course is merit unit, but one of my cadets had written down…</p>
<p>“* Marite * unit”</p>
<p>Instantly – College Confidential popped into my head (and a certain CC mom), and I just * had * to write this post. I was chuckling to myself for a while… and now I just have this huge grin on my face – something tells me I’ve been spending too much time on College Confidential. </p>
<p>But so far, things have been going pretty well. Still keeping that candle burning. :-)</p>
<p>Well, back to grading…</p>
