Sorry, had to say it. I saw this article earlier, and I was pretty grossed out at first, but at least it only seems to affect a few dorms. Not AS terrible as I thought. However, I hope the dorms are cheap there; I know my dorm is pretty much a glorified closet that costs more than my tuition, so if they made me pay for toilet paper, I’d be angry.

Aren’t there going to be bathrooms in the academic building closest to each dorm? So you’re really only talking about night hours. And I’m sure no one will steal TP at A&M.

Penny wise, pound foolish. I still don’t give money to my graduate school alma mater because when I was in grad school, GW stopped allowing students to use the staplers in the library because “staples cost money.” I vowed then that I’d never donate to GWU a cent, and I haven’t.

Maybe they are concerned about the hygienic consequences of charging students for laundry? They might have figured that students are more willing to pay for toilet paper than laundry…

The toilet paper A&M gave us was a huge roll. Every week the janitor guy came into our dorms to clean and give us a new roll lol. And I agree with jrt336, A&M should drop laundry first since it’s free…

TP is not even expensive. I lived in a dorm where you had to have your own TP and another where you didn’t. I admit that buying your own TP gets annoying after a while since you have to make sure there are two rolls so you don’t get screwed when your out of TP. Just go to Costco/Sams Club and buy TP there. It’s cheap and will last you a very long time unless you use the bathroom a lot…
