A Master's degree in Harvard East Asian studies

How long does it take?
I am currently majoring in Econ and Pol Sci. If I get a MS from Stanford majoring in Financial mathematics, can I still apply for a Harvard MA in East Asian Studies and get it within a year? (Interested in banking in East Asia)

Thanks

but up to one year of credit toward the degree requirements may be awarded for work already completed elsewhere.

^ I didn’t understand that. So if I already have an MS that should help?

Only if the coursework in the prior MS satisfies the requirements of the coursework in AM in Regional Studies — East Asia degree program.

You certainly don’t need an MA in East Asian Studies to get into financial services in East Asia. Not that it wouldn’t be interesting and helpful on a personal level. But if you are really a freshman at Stanford and you really are interested in a career in banking in Asia, you have a chance to develop lots of opportunities via your undergraduate program without getting any master’s degree at all, much less two of them.

Thanks for this bit of an awkward post.
