A Meta-thread to save us all time

Actually, VD, your DD can move much quicker in academic circles if she publishes that study, as it would be a prize candidate, not for the Nobel Prize, which really is overrated, but for the Ig Nobel prize, which is much more highly regarded among true scientists and academics.

Now I happen to be a card-carrying official Researcher for the Ig Nobel folks (well, I don’t usually carry the card because my wallet’s kinda thick, but I do have the card) and I can help smooth the way (just PM me to discuss the terms).

By the way, folks, apropos of an earlier post, it’s clear that VD chose his stage name for reasons similar to those of our fellow poster Bassdad, namely to cause confusion as to who if anyone in the family plays the viola (although bassdad really had us guessing for a while whether he was a fisherman, a singer or a musician and whether the “bass” referred to him or to one or more of his offspring).

Bunsenburner: you need to clarify. The grammar is confusing and inconclusive.

Are you a used-wine salesperson, i.e. one who sells used wine, or a used wine-salesperson, i.e. a wine salesperson who’s been used?

bump!!!
I didn’t really have a question, but I’m very annoyed that none of you have answered it yet.

Bunsenburner,
What vintage is that used wine?

Pizzagirl,
All your questions will be answered at your institution of higher learning, or written on the wall of VD’s bathroom stall.

It has been more than 20 minutes and no one has answered my question what is wrong with you people

"My son is exceptionally good at both “rock band” and “guitar hero” - we know he needs to specialize - which should he focus on for Ivy League admission? "

and

"It has been more than 20 minutes and no one has answered my question what is wrong with you people "

Sorry you are feeling like an ignore ( if naviance and google can be verbs “an ignore” can be a noun)

Hate to break the bad news but those backdoors have been closed - they are SO last year! Unless your son is a DDR national semi-finalist he’ll have to go to a (gasp!) CC and hope to transfer to a (double gasp!) third-tier school (not that there’s anything wrong with that)!

But how will he ever be an i-banker? My, er I mean his, dream ever since childhood has been to have him work for Bear Stearns. That’s the meaning of life, right? Right?

pizzagirl,
I believe they have changed their name to Bare Stearns now

Great News! Thanks so much for all the help, everyone. You’ve really been awesome. S2 has already sent in his deposit. Isn’t that great? And here he is only six.

But I refuse to tell you where he’s going.

LOL HarrietII

LOL! Join some others on CC.

Well we weren’t interested anyway.

Finally I am done…hours later and after succumbing to carpal tunnel and curious looks from my students (due to the tea spraying from my nose) I get to post my thanks and accolades. I raise my glass of used wine to you you all. Thanks for the best CC reading I’ve experienced in awhile. And can we all meet somewhere on friday for drinks…I’m thinking Kansas.

You’re not telling??!?! After I’ve given you the best years of my life???

cross posted w/ Harriet and wanted to add; Seriously, after all the whining you have done and all the support you have been given…sheesh! It’s not like anyone would recognize him anyway. 6 yr olds like that are a dime a dozen where I come from

Nope, not telling. But I think I’ll post a lot more, about how I’m not telling!

Unless sooz hijacks my thread.

What’s a good used whine? “I don’t know whether to choose HY or P. Please help!”

^^^“scored 35 on ACT and 2380 on SAT running out of time to retake?? HELP!!”

Harriet…re: post 576…you should go into comedy…VERY funny.

HistoryMom…LOL…I’m waiting for the posts where someone asks…I got a 2400…should I retake?
