A Meta-thread to save us all time

Garland,
Superhighway implies that you are putting too much pressure on your child to be “super” in everything. And, admissions officers immediately red-flag essays where a student claims to have super powers.

Again, the correct term in admissions is ROADway.

Another way to gain a hook is to take pitching lessons.

^^^I thought boxing or basketball would do it but aren’t those athletic ECs as passe’ as dogsledding?

Carolyn–I guess all this nitpicking is how you CC’s justify the highway robbery fees, huh? It’s not like you ever helped someone for free, now is it?

No, carolyn, in this case, garland has to be right. Feynman and Hibbs didn’t call their book Quantum Mechanics and Road Integrals, it was Quantum Mechanics and Path Integrals. And in my field, Feynman settled everything. . . . even though he claimed that people should think for themselves. Plus, it’s garland’s thread.

Originally.

That’s why this is clearly a meta-post.

Okay…so now it’s come to this: meta-physics!

Carolyn: What great news. May I have this mazurka?

In addition to being a card-carrying Ig Nobel researcher, I also am experienced in teaching the Mazurka. Also the Oberek, Krakowiak, “Polish” polka and dances from Rzseszow (that’s pronounced “Zhezhov”). Up to now there has been no great call for these skills. However, in light of the fact that they are becoming a prime hook, I will now consider setting up such a camp. We can share facilities with Confidentiala College.

Well, you’ll never guess what!!! Today I bought a roomba.

And, I forgot to tell you all that my kids (last three of them, anyway) all actually do play the tamburitza. DD plays prim (“preem”), sons play brac (“brauch”).

I don’t know what the call is at T.I.T.S., though, for eastern Euro stringed instruments.

I think that Confidentiala College offers merit based awards but no need based, right?

Which Ivy is best for meta-physics?

Depends whether your interests are applied or theoretical. Just find out the top departments where Bare Stearns recruits.

It doesn’t matter as long as it’s an ivy

or S (10 chars)

or MIT (10 more chars)

Or C. Why is everyone always leaving out C?

I always thought Pathway was the name of the supermarket where kids who are not applying to college are working. Maybe it’s a regional thing.

^^lol…

No, it’s Safeway (another term for “safety”) but most people don’t understand the Safeway concept until after rejection by the only schools they applied to: HYPSBDCCSMOOLA.

What’s C? (another 10 char)

sorry - should have looked at the abbreviations thread.

It’s just when you live in the east it’s hard enough to remember the S
