Fencersmother: I sure hope you’re not wearing Lithuanian bottoms while playing tamburitzas. That would make you all guilty of egregious ethnic cross-dressing and likely offend both the Lithuanian and Croatian communities. Just because I live in the San Francisco are doesn’t mean that I approve of such cross-dressing.

Thumper1: Flunked the Seven Continents section of Geography 101, is what you done did.

Good GRIEF who can keep up with the pace of the posters here?? SLow down, would ya??? I was gonna respond to something about roombas and m’am-o-grams at T.I.T.S. with my offer to donate my old, slightly used vacuum pump, but that was many posts ago, and I forget. Menopause brain sucks.

Ok, now the gloves are off. I can stand it that CC constantly cites the Art History major (me!!) as the quintessential useless major. But when you imply that my son is misguided for following the yellow brick roadpath-turnpike to off-off-Broadway, well, I just want to spit into my houseplants. That’s how mad I get. You either correct your ideas or I won’t post for another 10 minutes! And I mean that.

Also, fencersmother, sometimes when the resveratrol therapy is in full swing, I look at your sn and I see the potential for a new and niche-y (not Nietzsche, though now that I think about it, that could work too) EC.

Kind of biathlon-like (if that’s the one where you ski and then shoot stuff), kind of dangerous . . . kind of edgy.

carolyn, are you licensed to perform psychological evaluations in any particular state, or just on the internet?

dadofsam, you make a very interesting point. While D has a gift for moving very quickly in circles, often to the point of a mesmerized trance resulting in a dizzy, disoriented state, I was under the impression that this was caused by her special relationships with “higher powers”. Are you inferring that the ability to move rapidly and repeatedly on either a clockwise or counterclockwise axis is a direct result of exposure to academia, and not a gift from the gods?

Now, if this is true it begins to call into question the very concept of faith, not to mention enlightened academic pursuits.

I for one refuse to engage in any discourse, particularly in this forum, that encompasses that topic, or topics centered on politics, gun or birth control, premarital, extramarital, postmarital sex or the age old question of sex after death. These are “hot topics”, and logical, substantive, reasoned positions voiced by posters on all sides quickly degenerate into name calling matches, evoking images of elementary school shenannigans.

I for one will not participate.

So there. :p

As for the subject of names, my moniker was chosen to confuse and confound the masses; as like most things on this forum, it has no basis in reality. Nor do I.

And I don’t see the point of dragging BassDad’s name through the mud, nor his fish, instrument, or vocal range. Likening him to me is an insult of the highest order. He has shown himself to be beyond reproach, as evidenced by his lack of participation herein. He would never stoop to wallow in the same gutter as myself, or even jym for that matter. Or Harriet. Or binx.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

Speaking of dogs, the recalcitrant canine that caused the ruckus has finally emerged from the coma. D spent the last two afternoons rounding up the neighborhood cats, and shaving a variety of small mammals. Seems her efforts have been rewarded.

He’s up and about, but seems now able to move about rapidly in circles.

Forgot to ask, vd-
Are your doggie and your dd running in the same circles as you mention in the quote above? Which one is shmoozing with muckety-muck faculty, and which is chasing her tail and getting dizzy on the couch?
