A Meta-thread to save us all time

And there are those that say size does not matter. Tis time you begin to seize reality.

And again:

Another attempt to have this thread deleted by the mods. You’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of decorum, at times exceeding the envelope. Seems your predisposition to life’s baser tendencies rules your thoughts.

Fortunately, the internet provides a diversion for every perversion. Try googling “Leda and the Swan” with you preferences unfiltered. 32,500 images ought to keep you busy for a while.

((…just checked in here before my morning task. Now you’d done it, all of you. How’m I gonna sit through this Bat Mitzvah with a serious expression? Especially when the talk turns to God and the influence on the child. Daggone those ancient Greeks, that’s where we really lost traction))

Here is my suggestion…I believe the college and financial aid application processes need to be completely overhauled. Here is my suggestion. Students should be accepted because their PARENTS say the school(s) will meet their child’s needs (no more SAT, GPA, recommendations from teachers, etc)…just use the parents’ statement. AND financial aid should be awarded based on what the family says they need…get rid of the FAFSA, Profile and school forms.

Here’s how an application would look:

My DD belongs at Yale. We can afford to pay $10 per year.

Acceptance letters would look like this:

Welcome to Yale. We will look forward to receiving your $10 per year.

Just think how much money would be saved by having just a form letter…no adcoms, no financial aid folks, no processing of FAFSA or Profile (heck the College Board could finally fold).

But who would administer the SATs?

Oh Violadad…read post 784. No SATs!!

bassoonmom, I was going to post a thank you for this post. Definition of thank you being “LOL.”

But then I got to thinking, being a full-fledged cc member and all, that I ought to consider your post a little more fully in all of its ramifications. To wit,

Have you considered, that as his mom, you might be wrong about this? A lot of moms have a bit of a blind spot when considering their own children. He might actually be a fish. We need to tell you that. In the interest of honesty and a white-as-the-driven-snow motivation purely to help.

My, my violadad you read too much into things. Whose mind (besides Bassdads) is in the gutter?? Curious minds want to know only about Poseidon’s intellect, wisdom, persona. We know you are just wanting to be a god too.

That’s called Venus envy

Besides, we all know that Carolyn and xiggi are the only gods around these parts

I just hope the fish child and the half son of Poseidon do not end up

as roommates!!

How early in the morning and/or how much caffeine do you all consume to be this clever and quick-witted at this time of day???

It’s the Mint Juleps in the vigil lounge.

Many of us have been hanging around Sinners Alley in the Parents Cafe for a long time. Drinks are really good over there too. Its open 24-7. C’mon down. Especially you, 2cakes. We take a real likin’ to compliments.

As for the fish child who plays the bassoon, the bassoon does have bass in it, so might the child not be a type of aqueous life on the way to mammalhood? (Where’s mammall – she might know.) And wouldn’t that be a hook? The missing fin, so to speak? As long as the bassoon playing fish-mammal doesn’t end up on the hook. That would be bad.

As for my encounter with Poseidon, that can only be described in Tongues. So for all who need to know: &%$##@&&^%$#@!@#$%^&*. I can’t say anymore. Rest assured, it was divine.

(If you are really interested Mary Renault has a good approximation of this experience in THE KING MUST DIE, but being childless, I don’t think she actually lived through it herself. I can’t say more because sometimes my child wanders onto to this threads and would feel mortified that this birth history had been discussed.

jmmom, you make a very valid observation. bassoonmom may not even realize this.

Fish like attributes are not always easily indentified by the layman, or can be overlooked by a parent, whose tendencies are to look at the fruit of their own loins with blinders on.

Additionally mythmom’s own revelation of Poseidon’s genes in her progeny makes one wonder how truly prolific and indiscriminate the aquatic deities are in selecting mating partners. Beyond Poseidon and Neptune, there are numerous lesser gods, various mermen and untold numbers of water nymphs (both fresh and salt water varieities) whose sexual appetitites are far more voracious.

Beyond that, demi-god type creatures such as satyrs and fairies, various demonic entities of both greater and lesser stature, incubi, succubi, and aliens have long been known to mate with humans. The probability of her son truly being who she believes he is is really fairly miniscule.

Thanks, violadad!!!
I was going to make a witty comment about mythmom’s describing Poseidon in tongues. But… naaah. Not touchin’ that one.

jym, touche.

I looked at violadad’s numbering of the different types of posts, and was shocked by the low number he reported of sexual innuendo posts. Then I caught his comment that he had not counted his own posts. Now I understand.

I would be very cautious about sending a fish to music school. Please be very careful about this. Many musicians are there with a hook. There is additionally an incredible emphasis on scales. And gosh, have you ever tried to tune a fish?

And I don’t think it’s very nice to say bassdad has a wide mouth.

[And yes, we had a slow day yesterday, but people have woken up fresh today!]

binx,
You are clearly a woman with a porpoise

*** edit***
Maybe you can help those who are beginning to flounder

and jym, you are way too quick.

Thanks, I’m fishing for compliments, binx!

** edit** loved your “tune a fish” line, binx!

Is a fish child counted as URM at schools in the drier parts of the

country? I hope this not another water polo player.
