A NICE digital watch

I am shopping for a guy friend who only wears digital watches but is looking for something that can be worn to work, etc. Does anyone know any good brands?

Does anyone have any ideas? Or any experience with this watch

I can’t find any reviews for it.

“Only 4 left in stock”. Buy and return if you don’t like it.

I actually wouldn’t be buying from amazon, because there are cheaper places to buy it.

I am also looking at this watch:

I just have no experience with men’s watches and hoping that someone knows someone who owns one like either of these.

My H prefers digital watches. He has a Casio watch form Costco which he’s had for 5 years now (his previous watch was a Casio as well, but he got tired of replacing the battery every 3 years and got the solar powered one). He never takes it off, except when he goes to bed. It survived daily showers, many snorkeling trips, and it also tells him that his vitamin D level might be low  (when the display goes blank, it means the watch has not seen enough daylight) It sort of looks like this: [Amazon.com: Casio Men’s Solar Atomic Metal Watch #WVM120DJ-7: Watches](http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Solar-Atomic-Metal-WVM120DJ-7/dp/B002DMLKGG/ref=pd_sbs_watch_1)

Are you looking for a watch for a diver?

The diving features are deifnitely a nice addition, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Mainly, it just has to look professional. Something you can wear to a job interview, business meeting, etc. But it also has to be practical (something you can use to time yourself, etc.). That’s what’s kind of hard to find in one watch.

People still wear watches?

When you said “a GOOD digital watch,” the first thing that came to my mind was one of the Casio G-Shock series. To see the line-up, go to Amazon, and in the Watches category, search for G-Shock. They are built for rugged use, but for a fancier one, the one recommended by BunsenBurner looks great.

Fossil makes some pretty nice looking digital watches. I, personally, don’t think a digital watch CAN look professional. It’s perfectly OK to wear an athletic watch to work- I see lawyers etc. doing that all the time. To me, a digital “dress” watch is sort of like wearing shoes with velcro fasteners!

MOfWC, you work in a law office, and I agree that a digital watch is not something I’d get for a banker or a lawyer. My H is a techie, and that is considered a “nice watch” by their standards  Also, the West Coast tends to be more casual than the East Coast.

Once I was buying shoes for H (yup, he does not go to the mall!), and I said to the salesperson that the shoes were supposed to be for a job interview. His question was, “Is he a banker or is he in high tech, like Microsoft?” The sales guy then pointed to the shelf with shiny loafers with tassels, “That’s what the bankers wear” and to the shelf with Ecco and Clark shoes, “These are popular among techies.” :)

LOL. I was thinking of something similar, but just couldn’t have expressed it as well.

How about just a good watch for running then that can be worn every day? I am not really a runner. Are the watches mentioned above good for running, or do you need something different?

It’s not a matter of casual or not. I actually work in a corporation that is quite casual. Digital is fine- but as a sports watch. Wearing a sports watch with suits or business casual is done all the time- even at law firms. To me, trying to “dress up” digital is the problem. Digital and leather band- uh uh.

I couldn’t resist with the velcro comment. The realtor we are using in PA to sell our mother’s house is a lovely man, but he has these gigantic black shoes with huge velcro fasteners. I can’t keep from staring at them. They look like what my kid wore when he was 4, only giant-sized.

I never thought that a “dress watch” had to have a leather band (see, I hang out with the techies as well  I guess I learned something new). Digital watch on a leather band - yes, that is not a good combination!

I’ve worked at a law office and definitely the male partners would not think of wearing a digital watch once they had the money to buy some very expensive Swiss thing that didn’t keep as good a time as a cheap Casio. :)

Thank you everyone!

I ended up going with this one:
[Walmart.com: Casio Atomic Solar G-Shock Digital Watch: Watches](http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5295731)

It’s very similar to the one BunsenBurner posted above with a few extra things I like a little better. Again, thank you everyone!
