I want to right an essay about my creativity and imagination and I want to sight a quote from a book that most affected the way that I am think and add a picture from that book (a small one)

Do you think it will be wise?

I want to right an essay about my creativity and imagination and I want to sight a quote from a book that most affected the way that I am think and add a picture from that book (a small one)

Do you think it will be wise?

First, the word is ‘cite’ and (from a book) to cite something is the same thing as to quote something.

An interesting and/or familiar lines from a book can be quite helpful. Done well, it can draw a powerful connection between what the reader knows and what you want to share with him. Movie quotes or music lyrics can also be very effective. For example:

“It’s a poor sort of memory that only works backward.” - - Lewis Carroll

This might be an interesting quote as a lead-in to an essay about caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Using a picture from the book is inappropriate in a written essay.

thanks:) dyslexia
this is why I also write right instead of write:P if it sound a like or has similar letters (like how and who)

another question
what if my quote is obscure?
“Frighten? Why should any one be frightened by a hat?” , how can I use it in a way that will benefit my essay?

this sentence change my life when I was 12 , it led me to understand that I have to keep an open mind and imagine , even though I am growing up and imagination is for children

The Little Prince. Don’t worry your admissions officer will have Google too.
All kidding aside, always credit the source.

I don’t think that many will buy the “imagination is for children” idea so it can come across as a false argument just to advance your point. Shift instead to discussing how a well written story can capture young and old alike.

What I do like is the “this sentenced changed my life” comment. I WANT to know why but you have my full attention. Talk about the beauty of not only what is written but is left unwritten that sparks our imagination. Remember that there is a huge difference between telling someone the impact that words have had on your life to sharing that difference.

It is not were I thought I will take this essay, I want to tell about an army problem that I solved with my imagination. But I want to say why I am that way and it is thanks to that book

how would you be adding a picture? are you going to post a link?
