A place for folks having stimulus check issues to vent and compare notes

@Madison85 - I put in 0 for refund. We did have a refund, but applied it to the next year so we actually received 0.

So I was doing a bit of helicoptering yesterday  and may have checked just a few times to see if my daughter had finally entered her bank information. As I said above, she didn’t think she was eligible, but early Friday morning, I found she was. While she had always used our address as her permanent address while living in the UK, turns out her 2018 used her rental address once she moved back to the states. I sent her an email with a step by step on how to get in, which address to use, etc… While she is happy to receive the money, she told me she was too busy with work and a baby to take the time to log in right now. I did explain if she didn’t do it soonish, she might end up with a mailed check to her old rental, that she would never see.

So it seems she tried to add her banking info late last night and got a message that they couldn’t find her or she had logged in too many time! Helicopter mom needs a time out!!

Thank you @shellfell I was able to enter 0 for refund and get past the ‘Error 109’ to enter direct deposit information!

Just checked on My Payment and I am scheduled for my payment to hit on the 29th. I just got a status update 2 days ago stating I was eligible, so this quick turn around was not expected.

I read that they site was down from 10 pm to 1 am (eastern time) last week so they could update information. It didn’t say if that was going to continue this week.

My status just changed. I checked it Friday to remember how I logged in for this thread.

It says that my stimulus money will be deposited April 30.

“We scheduled your check to be mailed on May 01, 2020 to the address we have on file for you”

Even though I was finally able to enter my bank information on the site yesterday?

Well boo. I got all excited when I saw some of you get dates but mine still shows that they will deposit to xXxX account but no date.

With the new IRS update, the FAQ was also updated; this may help some:

So my daughter finally logged in this morning and she is due a mailed check on May 1. Great news except she moved 3 weeks ago. I don’t know if she was having her mail forwarded as she hasn’t replied yet, but even if she did, I don’t believe IRS checks can be forwarded. IF she didn’t forward her mail, she can go check the mailbox at her rental as it is only a couple of miles away and not currently rented.

If her mail was set to forward, I suggest she check with her old post office and see if maybe they could send it along to her new address. Any other suggestion?

My mother shows for direct deposit on April 29, mine doesn’t have a date yet, but we just added the DD a few days ago. It shows we will get DD, just not when.

Thank you to everyone who reported changes. I wasn’t going to bother checking on a Sunday, but my page now says “Payment will be made April 30 by direct deposit to account *******.
Hooray!

@swimcatsmom - Mine also doesn’t have a date for deposit, just the last 4 digits of the account it should be sent to. But at least we’re making progress from earlier in the week.

Looks like most of you are having better luck entering your account information or getting payment updates. We get to the page to enter our bank information and we always get “The information does not match our records. Please try again.” The information on AGI and amount we owed are from our tax return and we have tried entering different bank accounts. Anyone else having this issue?

So frustrating. My son still keeps getting “payment status not available” as of now. He filed in February and already got his refund direct deposited. I was optimistic today there would be info as most of you are now getting but no go.

I also don’t understand where people are entering refund amounts. Never get asked this on his get my payment or on my get my payment.

Still no payment date for me.

Hey! I also might not have bothered checking on a Sunday… but I did, and:

If they already had your bank info, then you don’t have to do that.

I had been getting the couldn’t determine my status result but now I was able to get in and add my bank information and it was accepted without error based on 2018 Return (haven’t filed 2019 yet). One thing I did find was that when I entered my address with ‘ST’ it didn’t find it but when I used ‘ST.’ it did. In the past I had tried both with no luck but it is that sensitive to data.

@bjscheel thank you. But if they already have his bank information (which they should) then why “payment status not available” Even after the supposed fixes.
He does have an apartment number. I have tried inputting that just as it is on the USPS site. No luck.
Any other suggestions!

@bhs1978, check to see how he entered his apt # on his tax return, not the USPS site.
