A potential list....

ok, so I need a bit of help deciding on which colleges to apply to:

GPA 3.4 (unweighted)
SAT II 1860
ACT 29 (plan to take it one more time)
Major horticulture, entimology, dairy science

Based soley on my stats as given, what are some schools that i should look into? Location, tuition, etc. isn’t an issue at the moment, it’s just a list afterall :)

I take a full IB coutrseload, if that helps :)

IB Topics in 20th Century (HL)
IB Math (SL)
IB Biology (HL)
IB Chemistry (HL)
IB Environmental Systems (SL)
IB English (HL)
TOK (required IB seminar course for graduation)

*hopefully these will result in an IB Diploma :)

the only school that comes to mind based on the majors you listed is Deep Springs College in Nevada, but that’s extremely hard to get into

Cornell University (reach)
University of California-Davis (match)

Other good ones:

Michigan State University
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
Purdue University-West Lafayette
Texas A&M University-College Station
Virginia Tech

SAT II 1860 <– ???

I’m assuming that’s your SAT score. Could you break that down into Math/Verbal and Writing? Some schools don’t consider the writing section except as a check of validity for your essay (aka if you write a stellar essay and have a 500 writing score something’s fishy).

What about SAT IIs? Your GPA is decent for someone taking a full IB courseload, but if you could post your weighted one it would help a great deal because a lot of colleges use that, and what area are you looking into or does location not matter?

I’m unfamiliar with your intended major, but I would think that Cornell’s school of Agriculture or any A&M school would be good for that.

North Carolina State University

thanks a lot, and btw, I believe I got a 570 math, 610 CR, and 680 Writing (though i really don’t want to submit my SAT scores, I think I’m more of an ACT person)

http://cookcollege.rutgers.edu/majors/

university of connecticut

Play around with this site - the American Society of Horticulture Science. There is a college section among the headings. Looks like Virginia State is your local school for horticulture.

not that I’m racist or anything, but VSU is historically black…
