A Prestige Workaround

I 100% agree with @romanigypsyeyes . You are WAY over-thinking this.

Unless she goes to an Ivy League school or similar (Northwestern, Vanderbilt, MIT, etc.) or “public Ivy” (Michigan, Berkeley, UNC) or top LAC (Williams, Swarthmore, Middlebury, etc.) it simply does not matter. And even for the categories of colleges I mentioned, it only matters for the first job. Maybe the second too. That’s it. I don’t even think of Villanova as a “prestigious” university, for whatever that’s worth. If I looked at a resume for an entry level job and saw Villanova as the school, this is what would come to mind free-associating: Catholic, mid-range/decent school, probably a disciplined worker (all people I have ever worked with who had Catholic educations are very disciplined). In that order. My free-association would not be: This person worked hard in high school or This person is extremely smart. I wouldn’t be impressed by the school, but I wouldn’t be unimpressed either. It’s just neutral.
