a Q from a HS student interested in Nuc E

I’m pretty good in Math.
But I’m just ok in Chem.
and I do very well in Physics. (are Mechanics or Elect &Mag. any of the prereq for the stuff that one will use in Nuc E in college?)

is Nuc E right for me?

Looks like you are fine w/ Math and Physics.

Don’t worry about Chem, I checked my school’s Nuc program- the only chem they take is in they’re freshman year.
But this one chem class is a prereq for a M E 300(Thermo) in the soph year, and from ME 300 one takes two more ME class which are prereq for a Nuc class in the sr year. Hence the basic chem learned in that freshman class will be important in the fuure, I guess.

oh, thanks

Just like Tom’s comment… you only need the first chem course to take thermodynamics. But again, that chem course is not that important for future courses…

You’ll be taking mostly math and physics, ME, CS, EMA courses in that order.
