A question about admission

I read in several places that if someone knows Greek, Hebrew or Latin he can get into Yale automatically. My question is if there is any truth to that?
Thank you.

No one can get into Yale automatically, if only it were as easy as that

It may help, but nothing will get you in automatically unless you cure cancer.

… and even then, it’s up in the air.

Actually, if you cured cancer, I doubt you wouldn’t get in, since you’ve done better research than any of their professors at that point…

People who know Hebrew and Latin aren’t that rare.

OP Are you really that naive??? Honestly now.

Ahh I wish…then all my friends who’ve gone to Hebrew school for 12 years would be in just like that! Sure, speaking another language helps, but it’s only a very small part of the “big picture”

No… what you heard was probably referring to very very old admissions standards (as in, from colonial times) that were pretty much based on your ability to understand greek, hebrew, and latin.
