Well so far i have one, that is I took a gap year in the 2010-2011 school year but there is no place on the css profile where an option of ‘gap year’ is present. So should I mention gap year for the first question in the student’s data section [SD] of the css profile where it asks to ‘enter the name of the school i attended during the 2010-2011 academic year’? If not, then where on the profile is it best to mention a gap year? or don’t i need to mention it at all?

Thanks for the help in advance! :)

No “gap year” isn’t a phase of education or a “classification”…it simply means you weren’t in a school that year. Lots of kids don’t go to college right out of high school…they might start a year later or they might start when they are 25. If you did something interesting that would be for the college application. The financial aid forms are simply for gathering family income/asset information to determine eligibility for aid and determining if you are a dependent or independent student.

I am grateful for your reply. Thanks again!
