<p>So I’m looking to get Sun Java certified over the summer. Its a bit costly and I was wondering if this would actually help with anything for college. If it does, where do I put it under? And do more qualifications such as this help with anything?</p>

<p>I have, kind of, well, no idea what that is. I know Sun Java is some sort of computer-type thing, but as far as what being certified means… I don’t know. What does it mean to be “certified”? Did you have take some sort of difficult test, reach a certain accomplishment?</p>

<p>Sun certifications are notoriously hard to get, if you can pass the test, go for it. OTOH, I wouldn’t take out a loan to test for the cert, most companies will pay for certs once you get hired on, so in a word, no I wouldn’t pay for it yourself. By the time you graduate, the cert could be obsolete. I would actually recommend a different major than CIS (if that’s what your going to major in) I couldn’t find any work in the field with my major in that. (Granted I didn’t get an internship)</p>
