A Tribute to the "LACs."

I live here in New York City, and I received my B.A. from a small LAC here named Marymount Manhattan College. As I mentioned, this school has a “small” student body of about 2,000 students, with 17 majors. I was required to enroll in courses in all the main areas of knowledge, from applied sciences to social sciences to humanities to physical sciences. After I graduated, I believe I am more open-minded and circumspective than before. The courses enabled me to see different viewpoints to an issue. My graduated major in international studies further immersed me into the world.

I know many people who graduated from LACs complain about poor name recognition, but I would not worry too much about that issue. As a LAC grad, the LAC made me see the world as if I am wearing a new cleaned glasses that was dirtied and enabled me to get through grad school with top marks. This fact is more important than recognition. I hope LACs will continue to be a major feature in American education.
