A Very Brady Renovation. Anyone watch?

Considering the $3.5M purchase price, I would bet HGTV has sunk close to $6M into this project (renovation cost, actor and support salaries, etc.) Just my guess.

I’m curious to know if they’ll make anything close to that with the ultimate sale and all the advertising $$ (but I’m starting to understand the need for commercials every 3.5 minutes!).

But then again, some movie studios sink $100M into projects that never make anything close to that.

No, it the idiot “investor” Lance got a bidding war going on the house… and HGTV had to pay way above the initial price… CC would not let me post the link to support that.

Maybe he’ll buy the finished product.

Any way, good for the sellers! I would be doing a happy dance.

Lance’s bid was supposedly under $3M, so HGTV still paid a hefty premium.

If you really want the property, you gotta know your competition’s bail out point.

I wonder how much a future resident would need to spend to get rid of all those ugly period renovations? HGTV did it for the show, making money on commercials while so many of us watch. But- my book is handy for the commercials and repetitive nonsense. At least they seem to be making a livable house instead of just what looks good on camera- kitchens can be gutted and redone if space is adequate. It also seems as though losing a large backyard with the addition may be better for current lifestyles.

I have watched part of one episode. Main reaction: I was shocked to discover how old I am! Honestly, all of the Brady Bunch actors are surely still children, right? Who are those people on the show?

We watch a lot of HGTV, but I didn’t find this show entertaining at all. There is a reason they don’t make the fabric for that couch anymore (it was ugly then, it’s still ugly now).

I really don’t see the point. Mork and MIndy didn’t really live in the house in Boulder either.
