I caught most of the first episode. The commercials every 4 minutes were maddening, but overall it brought back lots of fun memories. It did make me feel a bit old.
I’ll stay tuned for the rest of the series. Any thoughts?
I watched it. It was interesting because that was one of those parlor games we played in college over a pitcher of beer - TV homes where the interior did not match the exterior. I’m not sure how many episodes this show has, but I can’t see this holding interest beyond 3 at most.
@skieurope , I believe there are 4 episodes.
I’ll probably watch them, but since I record them, I will pass on the commercials.
We watched. Lots of fun, nostalgic discussions at our house last night.
I watched - via my DVR - so no commercials. I was a huge Brady fan. I came from a broken home and thought one day I hoped to be part of a big blended family…that never happened. I’ll watch the whole thing, even the cheesy parts!
I saw the reveal at the end. I was the nerdy kid who tried to figure out how the interior fit the exterior. It’ll be interesting to see how/if they make it happen.
I’m guessing they are going to put the house up for sale. I’m more interested in how they sell the house and Who would really want to live there
I watched for like 10 minutes since there was something called Football on.
LOL. ?
Guessing it’ll be a museum of sorts. Adding 2000 sq ft makes it much larger than the neighbors and any asking price will be cost prohibitive. Anyway, who would want to alter it and use avocado kitchen appliances from the 70s?
I met a couple named Mike and Carol at an exercise class and they couldn’t understand why I laughed and said I would have no problem remembering their names. They’re my generation but never watched the show.
I could see an airbnb rental with people renting for the nostalgia/fun factor or rentals for commercial reasons.
Haven’t watched this show yet, though.
I DVR’d it so I can watch later. I cant wait because I loved that show so much as a kid, sometimes would watch several in a row back before binging shows was a thing! I would love to stay there if it was an Air BnB!!
Does anyone know if it is on On Demand? Didn’t set DVR to record and might check it out. Thanks!
HGTV is re-running it (1-1/2 hour version) several times on Saturday and Sunday and then on Monday night (1 hour version) before episode 2. So still time to set the DVR for episode 1.
I watched because I like house shows. The small 2 bedroom house is vastly improved. Nice for the neighbors that the addition does not change the look from the front and the changed windows work. Good decision to keep the angle and not the number of stair steps. The decor was/is ugly imo but that is just cosmetic.
I’m sure the costs will be taken care of from ad revenue and possibly rentals. No one takes on any commercial project without looking at the bottom line- profits. Changes required meeting current building codes and hopefully nothing done shoddily.
Agreed. But 2 minutes and 54 seconds of airtime (yup, I timed it) discussing 11 steps versus 12 was a bit of overkill. Clearly it had to be addressed on-air; otherwise some Brady geek would have called it out on a message board. ![]()
It was offered in 2018 for 1.88 Million$, bought by HGTV.

The renovation is completed and was sold for more than 3.5 Million
I watched. I was underwhelmed. There was a lot of, Oh look, we found the exact item in a thrift store!
To be clear, the $3.5 MM is what HGTV paid for it pre-reno. AFAIK, it has not been put back onto the market.
My bad, not paying attention to the narratives. It was offered at 1.88 million but hgtv bid it up to 3.5 million so they can use it for the show promo.
