A very silly question...

Just remember: you’re not an engineering major yet. Your CLAS applicants aren’t all liberal arts majors, much less english majors. (I haven’t even brought up the fact that a large number of people switch majors/schools.) You all should be on the same footing, and especially since you’ve been in honors classes, you should be fine. Just relax and speak from the heart :)

One must take a very different approach in technical writing than in a history or English paper. It is not uncommon that a paper written well in one standard will fall flat in another. Keep that in mind.

As far as admissions going easy on essays: no. I mean, if they are a shoe in, like a 1600 SAT and perfect GPA but they can’t write, they would have gotten in anyways, E school or CLAS. You’ll have no sympathy from the e school :)

i can’t comment on the eschool, but my d. was saying y’all early in her first semester!and we’re east coast! ( so much for serious comment on the topic! )

…nobody is going to judge you whether you say y’all or not. its a natural kinda thing. if it doesnt roll of your tongue ya dont need ta say it!
