A very, very strange story.

I have no idea what to think here

[Teen drove into ditch, vanished as parents searched](<a href=“Teen drove into ditch, vanished as parents searched - CNN.com”>Teen drove into ditch, vanished as parents searched - CNN.com)

How strange. I can only think of one thing worse than a parent losing a child to illness, accident, suicide, or foul play: that would be to lose them to one of those things and never know what happened to them. Pure, unadulterated torture.

Well, it happened a year and a half ago, so it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be found. Awful story.

His confusion when on the phone with his parents made me think brain injury. So sad.

That poor family. Not knowing what happened must indeed be torture.

I very much admire the parents for using their pain to pass the law in their son’s name. I wish for them peace.

What a nightmare. That poor family!

This leaves me with a sick feeling in my gut.

Heartbreaking.

It sounds as though he was on an entirely different road than he thought he was, apparently miles away from the location he reported. He could have been drinking, or confused from a head injury from his accident, or just plain disoriented in the dark. But what happened after that is inexplicable.
