AA degree for college application

will having an aa degree from local community college help strengthen my ivy application significantly ? at my highschool i’m already taking the most rigorous courseload.

By itself, no.

CC classes help rigor. But there is no rigor rating of “super duper demanding.” and no application brownie points are awarded for an AA degree.

The OP asked about Ivy specifically. For those universities, credits earned before HS graduation do not make one ineligible to apply as a first-year.

I wasn’t planning to deflate their balloon further, but to head off follow-up questions, the OP needs to be aware that for most, if not all, privates at that tier, a grand total of zero credits will transfer, since they view such classes as preparation for a 4-year university.

More like, they do not want students to graduate early, for various reasons including tuition revenue.

That might be part of the reason at some schools but IME it has more to do with the perception of some (whether based on fact or not) that HS DE classes are less rigorous than what a given four year college offers.
