<p>Hi Phedre! On a random note not related to this thread, I read Racine’s “Phedre” just last semester in my French class and loved it. I don’t suppose your name is related to the play at all…? Or the actual mythic figure…?</p>

<p>Hey sam927. My name, alas, is not from that play. I took the name from a novel I was currently reading when I created this account (it’s called Kushiel’s Dart, if you’re curious). I don’t even know if I’m terribly fond of the character, either. Anyway, sorry to disappoint. 
A couple of other people have asked me about either that play, or some other French literature with someone named Phedre, and I have no connection. </p>
