Would shadowing a physician be included under “Community Service/VolunteerMedical/Clinical” or “Other?” There is no specific category for shadowing.

Last year, I was told by my premed advisor to “package” shadowing with other related activities if possible. For example, I did clinical research with an MD/PhD neurologist. I was able to shadow him, another neurologist, and a neurosurgeon that was doing surgeries related to my research. So I put my shadowing experiences into the research category, but gave it the title “Clinical Research and associated physician shadowing”. If your shadowing was a stand alone experience, then I suppose “Other” might be the best option since you aren’t actually volunteering when shadowing.
