Aaron Copland School of Music

Okay, so let me get this straight: you don’t have to audition to be accepted to the Music Education program, just pass an examination? (see: http://qcpages.qc.cuny.edu/music/index.php?L=1&M=61</a>)

My voice teacher’s fiancee got her MM from Queens College, and she told me to look into it. Now that I am, I’m kind of liking it. Anyone have any experience with QC?

It appears the BA music ed program is a non-audition admit, contingent on passing the qualifying music exam. There’s more detail here: http://www.qc.cuny.edu/Academics/Documents/Undergrad_Bulletin_07_09.pdf</a> The '07-09 undergrad handbook appears to be the most recent on the website. You may want to inquire as to if changes and further requirements are in place for '10, or if the '09 is the operative document. Take some time to read through it and understand the evaluation parameters for ongoing students.
